First responders drive through Miami-Dade brush fire

A brush fire in the Miami-Dade area has burned 3,600 acres and was only 20% contained as of Tuesday, according to the Florida Forest Service.

The fire is burning near and around the only two roads connecting the Florida Keys islands to Florida City on the mainland. Card Sound Road has been shut entirely. Officials briefly closed US 1, the second road, causing traffic for hours for those trying to enter or leave the island chain.

The fire is expected to burn for several days due to the forecast providing a dry, stable atmosphere for wildfire growth and development.
